Buy Military Wives Choir: Wherever You Are
Wherever You Are is a moving love song written by Royal Wedding composer Paul Mealor for the Military Wives Choir to sing at The Royal British Legion's Festival of Remembrance. The music is set to a poem compiled from letters to and from the servicemen and their wives on a 6-month tour of duty in Afghanistan. It is the raw emotion of the song that has touched so many of the British public.
The 2011 Christmas Number One!
Wherever You Are became the UK's Official Christmas Number 1 of 2011, having sold a staggering 556,000 copies in the week leading up the Christmas, more than the rest of the Top 12 combined. The Military Wives track became the 60th Official Christmas Number 1 of all time and winners of the first ever Official Singles Chart Number 1 Award.

The Military Wives Choir
In the fourth series of BBC2's The Choir, Gareth Malone formed a choir of military wives while their husbands/partners deployed for a 6 month tour of duty in Afghanistan. While the men were away, Gareth believed music and singing would help the women through a difficult time of worry and separation, leading them through public perofrmances in Barnstaple, at Sandhurst Officer Training Academy, at the Homecoming Medals Parade and finally in front of the Queen and Royal family at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall.
Wherever You Are was released as a CD single on 19th December 2011. BBC Radio 2 DJ Chris Evans has given his personal backing to the push to get Wherever You Are to Number 1 in the Christmas charts.

The Charities we Support

Military Wives are supporting two wonderful charities. Proceeds from the sale of each CD/download will be donated jointly to The Royal British Legion and the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen Families Association (SSAFA).
Who would have guessed in those first rehearsals that we could take Christmas Number 1? It's testament to the Military Wives' hard work and the nation's support of them as well as the power of choral singing. Thank you to the British public for supporting The Royal British Legion and SSAFA Forces Help by buying this single. Chris Evans and Radio 2 have helped us to showcase the talent and strength of these amazing women. The support of the British military for the choir has been fantastic. I'm delighted that they have found their voice. We did it!
